Augusta Kids

I know it's totally crazy but prior to last night I had never been to Carnegie Hall. Jessye Norman, the Soprano, and the Roots did a performance based on Langston Hughes's Ask Your Mama! I saw something about it in the March issue of Town & Country so I decided to finally check out the venue and support a fellow Augustan. Jessye Norman is the most famous person from Augusta (now that James Brown has passed away), but I'd never seen her perform. She was amazing. ?uestlove did spoken word and the orchestra was fantastic. I can't tell you how great it felt for me to watch another woman who comes from where I'm from doing something so awesome here in the city. It was inspiring.
