On the Twentieth Century

Because I am the luckiest girl in the world, I got to see the fabulous and incredible Kristin Chenoweth in On the Twentieth Century on Wednesday night.  She was absolutely incredible.  I have never been so delighted to see a person take a Broadway stage.  In her first big song and dance number she looked me directly in the eye.  I was on the third row.  This is a revival and it's a cute story, although not as great a story in my opinion as say Thoroughly Modern Millie.  Unfortunately, Peter Gallagher couldn't find it in himself to show up to work, but his understudy did a good job.  Andy Karl was also super funny.

I loved the set because it actually looks like they're on a train and they do some really interesting things with it.  But . . . Kristin Chenoweth is really the big reason to see this show.  Every second she is on stage it feels like and honor to be in the audience.  She is so funny and her voice is a dream.  Also she is even tinier than you would think.

33

I've been busy this month turning 33.  I spent a couple weeks in Thailand which is why I've been totally MIA.  I celebrated my birthday at our resort in Phuket.  My husband met with the pastry chef to make me a special chocolate cake.

And when I got back to the city I celebrated again at Hudson Clearwater with A.  I had the risotto and the yummy lemon tart.

And then I celebrated again this past Sunday with my NYU peeps at Harbs, a Japanese bakery in Chelsea.  The cake there is absolutely divine.  I cannot wait to go back here.
