I want my MJtv

I was 9 years old when Dangerous came out and MTV turned into MJTV. I was so excited for the premiere of the Black or White video. I was glued to the tv for the Remember the Time premiere. I remember being disappointed with the In the Closet video because it wasn't the colorful mini movie I'd come to expect. The huge event of a Michael or Janet album coming out were some of the most exciting times for me when I was growing up. I loved the way MTV, VH1, and BET were able to fill entire weeks with just Jackson videos. I haven't done a top ten list in a while so here goes. My favorite Michael songs.

10. We Are the World USA for Africa
9. Way You Make Me Feel Bad
8. She's Out of My Life Off the Wall
7. They Don't Really Care About Us History Past, Present, and Future
6. Man in the Mirror Bad
5. Butterflies Invincible
4. I Want You Back Jackson 5's Stand
3. Human Nature Thriller
2. Scream with Janet Jackson History Past, Present, and Future
1. Will You Be There Dangerous/Free Willy Sdtk

"All I wanna say is that they don't really care about us." - Michael Jackson

Lilly and the Countess

I really want to see Gracie Mansion. But tours are only available on Wednesday mornings. I cannot get over my fascination with a mansion on the island of Manhattan. I want to be Mayor so that I can live there.

Last night at Bloomingdales had a Lilly event with Countess Luann de Lesseps from the Real Housewives of New York. Bravo really is my new obsession. The Countess is super tall and there were yummy cupcakes. I wore the new Andover Lilly dress (with blue monkeys) my sister just gave me. My friend M came with me. I think anyone who can handle herself with grace despite what she's going through is a Lady. After Bloomingdales we crossed the street and went to H&M where I got a white headband with a bow on it. It's super cute.

Greenhouse

The other night V and I went to this a club in Tribeca on Varick street called Greenhouse. It's a totally Green club and I really liked it. There was a live band and a nice crowd. It was a Mon night so there was no rif raf.

This past week was the first time I've really gone dancing since being back in the city. My friend J visited from LA for my other friend J's b-day and we went to Marquee last Thursday. I have to say that place is still hot after all these years IMHO. I felt we were a little trapped on the Upper East Side. I have been feeling like that a lot lately. It's scary for me because I consider myself to be a downtown girl. We went to Diller-Quaile, where our friend is a music teacher, two days in a row. It's on the same street as my apt. We also went to church which is steps from Park in the 80s. We even tried this old lounge on first ave and 77th, but somehow the b&t crowd found it's way out of Chelsea. J's last morning here we went to Sarabeth's on Madison which was so yummy. J gave me this cute pink and green Vineyard Vines sash I'd been eyeing. I had so much fun with J. But I need to get downtown more. As my former roomate Joy used to say, "people move uptown to die." Yikes.
