How to Be a Lady

Southern Belles: Louisville is no Real Housewives of New York, but it's still something to watch during the summer. I don't know much about Kentucky. It's pretty far from Augusta. Nothing interesting has happened on the show so far and I expect this to be the one and only season. I will say this. SB:L is a much more accurate portrayal of southern ladies than the tacky Real Housewives of Atlanta.

I took advantage of the 40% Brooks Brothers sale this Monday and got this book that I am finding educational.
Here are some new rules I will be improving my life and the lives of those with whom I come in contact:

A lady never compliments one person when she in a group setting. She chooses a moment when the two of them are alone to offer he complement.

If a lady finds herself in the company of someone who is embarrassing her, she may ask to be taken home. Should he friend refuse, a lady may feel free to leave, even if that means calling a cab or asking another friend for a ride home.

A lady learns how she looks best when being photographed.

Love it. I also read this book call "You'll Never Nanny in this Town Again!" The book is about a girl from Oregon who nannies in Hollywood for the Ovitz family and for the Danny Devito/Rhea Perlman family. It's really fun and like the real life west coast version of the Nanny Diaries.

A Lilly Suprise

I got a call when I was Atlanta telling me I had two packages that I needed to pick up. I wasn't expecting anything but I came home to find not 2, but 3 packages full of wonderful surprises.

Lilly Pulitzer "Caroline" Bouganville Dress
Lilly Pulitzer Wave Blue Shrunken Polo
Lilly Pulitzer Shell Pink Shrunken Polo
Lilly Pulitzer Palm Green Shrunken Polo

Plaid Georgette Top by Tulle

Vintage Cream Silk Top by French Connection

There was also a beautiful Lilly Pulitzer Georgette Sunshine plaid pleated skirt and a brown pleated skirt by Jennifer Reale Design but I couldn't find a pictures. I used to joke in college that my fashion sense was so bad that my sister just sent me all my clothes in the mail. But it's not a joke. And it's still happening.

Missed NY before I could unpack

So two weekends ago I visited my friends J and E in Oakland, CA and met their new baby N. She the cutest most perfect baby ever. It was a lot of fun, but it's so sad that I don't get to see her and hold her all the time.

This past weekend I was out of town again. This time I was back home in Augusta because my bf, M was getting married. It was such a fun wedding. I cried like five times. The bridesmaid dresses looked great on everyone and the bridesmaid gifts were really cute monogrammed umbrellas. I finally got to wear the satin ivory kate spade karolinas my sister got me for Christmas.
They are the best shoes ever. I did the cha cha slide (which means I was literally jumping up and down 5 times in a row) in these shoes and my feet didn't hurt at all. I wasn't stumbling around. It was amazing. I was even able to walk back to my house from the reception without achy feet. I spent seven hours (most of which I was standing) in those shoes. Of course this means I need to get them in every single color.

I've been having so much fun, but it's good to be home.

HanGawi

I've seen a few movies that take place in the city where people sit on the floor at an Asian restaurant. I finally got to do it when V took me to this vegetarian Korean place on 32nd street called HanGawi. I had avocado bibim bob and tofu cheesecake. It was so yummy.
