A House in the City

Today I was walking down 92nd street and I saw this house. It seemed so out of place in the city and yet refreshing. I think it would be amazing to live in a place like this. It actually reminds me of the a place I once went on a field trip in elementary school.

Ezekiel Harris House Augusta, Ga

Ezekiel Harris made his money from Tobacco and built this house (which is near my home in Augusta) in 1797. I decided to look up the house here in the city and this is what I found. The house is 3277 square feet, was built sometime between 1871 and 1910, and is valued at between $10 and $14.5 million. woah

Make Me Babies

On Regis and Kelly they talked about this website where you can upload your pic and your partner's pic to see what your baby would look like. According to this website if V and I had a girl she would look like this:

I like the curly hair. If we had a boy he would supposedly look like this:

I find this hard to believe. But it's fun.

Exposed

Today I went to get alterations on my bridesmaid dress for M's wedding. Whenever I go to the tailor I am always nervous that the curtain is going to open. In the city it's even worse because you're a couple feet away from pedestrians walking down the street. Well much to my dismay, the very nice tailor decided to unzip the back of my dress with the curtain open right in front of the window. The dress fell off.

All the news shows are going crazy over the swine flew. I am a hypochondriac so this is no good for me. I stopped watching the news. Well today Oprah had Dr. Oz on talking about flesh eating bacteria and MRSA (staph) infections. I feel sick. Are they trying to make me totally insane? This brings me to the subject of the New York Kiss. Every week at my church people stand up to welcome each other. Well here in the city everybody wants to do this kiss on the cheek thing. It's gross. I don't want 20 people's mouths all over my cheeks (and what often gets dangerously close to my mouth). yuck. I'm not sure if it's a southern thing or what, but I prefer to hug. I know a hug can be more intimate, but it's much cleaner IMHO.

I'm not contemplating staying home from church or anything, but I am thinking no more kissing. I'm just gonna have to be up front about it with people. No kissing.

Stop trying to make fetch happen

Last night V and I went to a restaurant near my apt called Fetch. The restaurant is devoted to dogs. It's weird. I love dogs and my veggie burger was delicious but it was a little much. There were dog figurines and pictures of dogs everywhere. At one point V leaned over to me and said, "That girl at the table next to us is really into dogs. . . And that guy with her just wants to sleep with her." I guess I will go back because the food was great, but creepy dog figurines are not my taste.

Bravo

I have an apt. And now I have Bravo. Finally. I am so addicted to the Real Housewives. My favorite is the Real Housewives of New York. But I watched the teaser for RH of New Jersey premiering in May and it looks crayzay! They are totes Mafia wives. I also can't get enough of Millionaire Matchmaker. Those guys are unbelievable. I cannot wait for the real life Gossip Girl Bravo is planning.
